Women Empowerment + XOXO Dining Review

It’s International Women’s Day! Like seriously, what would this world really be without us? I’ll wait….

For those who don’t know, this day is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights – A global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

I don’t know about you, but I take pride in being a woman. So many of us are mothers, wives, students, professionals, and go-getters who juggle so many things in life while flawlessly executing. Despite the ongoing battles of gender inequality many of us face, we’ve continued to rise and show the boys how it’s done (*chef’s kiss).

Being a woman has its ups and downs (as for any person), but I get through some of my toughest times by leaning on my support system with women I love, trust, and confide in. Even with conflicting schedules, setting aside time to celebrate and uplift other women should always be a part of your agenda. If you don’t have a group of friends you feel comfortable doing this with, feel free to use this space as a gateway to uplift yourself and others (sidenote: I’m only a message away and love making new connections lol).

A group of my closest friends and I recently had a weekend getaway in Dallas, TX and we enjoyed every moment of it! The highlights were instantly laughing once we got together, and dining at the cutest spot called XOXO Dining Room. Here’s the deets from our experience, and our outfit looks can also be found below.

What we ate:

  • Lobster Ravioli (8/10 – taste was great, but wasn’t filling)
  • Truffled Fried Chicken (7/10 – not bad, but had better for the price)
  • Australian Lamb chops (8/10 – taste was great, but wasn’t filling)
  • Grilled Gulf Shrimp (7/10 – taste was great, but wasn’t filling for price)
  • Strawberry cupcakes (10/10 – delicious and very rich!)

Our Cocktails:

  • Uptown Diva (10/10 – delicious!)
  • Fancy AF (10/10 – delicious!)

Pricing:

The meals we had were slightly overpriced considering the small portions and not having a side included. Our meals ranged from $27-37, which didn’t break the bank, but we each also ordered cocktails ($15) and sides ranging from $7-10.

Ambiance:

The ambiance is super chic and picturesque – pink, black and white cuteness filled throughout! You can get a glance on their Instagram but be aware that it’s slightly dim inside and they have two different areas for dining.

Service:

Although we had reservations, we weren’t seated until 15-20 minutes after arriving. Our server’s name was Kody and she was great and super accommodating!

Overall, we recommend trying XOXO dining room with your girls at least once – it’s worth the visit!
